Alonso is a partner specialized in privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance, with more than 20 years of experience in technology law.

He has more than two decades of experience advising organizations on privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, electronic signature, and electronic certification services. His practice covers the implementation of advanced IT Compliance programs, adaptation to regulatory frameworks such as NIS2, DORA, and eIDAS2, and alignment with international security and privacy standards.

He has a proven track record in designing and overseeing data protection management systems, digital governance and resilience models, compliance audits, and proactive corporate liability structures. He has led technology risk control projects and incident response and fraud prevention initiatives, especially in financial, critical, and highly regulated sectors.

In the field of the eIDAS2 Regulation, he has advised on the implementation and supervision of qualified trust services, digital signature and identification models, and legal analysis for qualified providers. He has also collaborated on security initiatives for digital transactions, asset tokenization, and protection of technological infrastructures.

Before joining ECIJA, he developed his career at consulting firms and leading technology law practices, accumulating international and multidisciplinary experience. He is a registered external expert with SEPBLAC, with extensive experience in money laundering and digital fraud prevention projects.

He currently serves as second Vice President of the Spanish Compliance Association (ASCOM), promoting the professionalization of the sector.

Alonso holds a Law Degree from the Carlos III University of Madrid, where he also completed a Master’s in Telecommunications Law and New Information Technologies, specializing in the regulation of the digital and technology sector. He further enhanced his academic training with studies at the National Distance Education University (UNED), obtaining an advanced qualification in Biotechnology, Biomedicine, and European Union Law.

In addition, he completed an Advanced Master’s in Risk Prevention and Management at the San Pablo CEU University, which provided him with specialized knowledge to assess, mitigate, and manage legal and operational risks in highly regulated industries. This multidisciplinary education underpins his expertise in IT compliance, cybersecurity, and regulatory frameworks, allowing him to advise clients with both legal precision and technical depth.
