Career
In addition to his practice, Alonso collaborates with European and Latin American governments on electronic identification, trusted services for electronic transactions, and regulatory frameworks in privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity. He also serves as Second Vice President of the Asociación Española de Compliance (ASCOM), contributing to initiatives aimed at professionalizing the compliance function in organizations.

Personal
Alonso holds a Law Degree from the Carlos III University of Madrid, where he also completed a Master’s in Telecommunications Law and New Information Technologies, specializing in the regulation of the digital and technology sector. He further enhanced his academic training with studies at the National Distance Education University (UNED), obtaining an advanced qualification in Biotechnology, Biomedicine, and European Union Law.
In addition, he completed an Advanced Master’s in Risk Prevention and Management at the San Pablo CEU University, which provided him with specialized knowledge to assess, mitigate, and manage legal and operational risks in highly regulated industries. This multidisciplinary education underpins his expertise in IT compliance, cybersecurity, and regulatory frameworks, allowing him to advise clients with both legal precision and technical depth.
Experience
With more than 15 years of professional practice, Alonso has advised public and private entities, both nationally and internationally, on strategic projects involving privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance. Before joining ECIJA, he developed his career in prestigious institutions providing legal and regulatory compliance advisory services.
He is a registered external expert with the Servicio de Prevención de Blanqueo de Capitales (SEPBLAC) and has advised on asset tokenization processes, as well as on the design of fraud prevention and anti-money laundering programs in the technology sector.
His work has been recognized by international directories such as Chambers & Partners, highlighting his expertise in compliance, technology, and data protection.
