Matías Olcese is a transactional and projects lawyer. He specialises in mining, corporate/M&A and finance, focusing its practice primarily on the mining industry.
Mr. Olcese regularly advises miners and financiers in exploration & option agreements, royalties, JVs, project development, infrastructure, strategic investments, M&As and cross-border financings. He has been involved in acquisitions, financings and title opinions of mining assets located in all mining jurisdictions of Argentina, including gold, silver, copper, lithium, potash, uranium, bentonite and REE.
He also has vast experience in the financial sector, acting for lenders, borrowers, sponsors, underwriters and issuers in innovative capital-raising transactions, including equity, debt, project finance and structured financing.
Prior to joining the firm in 2017, Mr. Olcese was a partner at HOLT Abogados, where he was a member of the firm since its foundation in 2008. Previously, he was an associate at Estudio Beccar Varela (2006-2008) and at Zang Bergel & Viñes (2006).
He is admitted to practice law in the City of Buenos Aires.
Matías Olcese graduated with honours as an attorney from the Universidad Empresarial Siglo 21 in 2005 and later obtained a Master’s degree in Law & Finance from the Universidad del CEMA.
