María Laura Lede Pizzurno

María Laura Lede Pizzurno specializes in mining, administrative and environmental law. She regularly advises local and foreign companies acting in regulated industries, with strong focus in the natural resources, infrastructure and life sciences sectors. She also has vast experience in complex regulatory issues and administrative proceedings, including the negotiation of complex administrative agreements and public-private partnerships.

She has been very active assisting mining companies established in Argentina on regulatory and environmental matters, and has participated in the financing of several mining and infrastructure projects, including Barrick’s Veladero Project. She has been one of the main advisors for Vale in connection with the Potasio Rio Colorado project, and has assisted them with the development of the power transmission infrastructure and the logistic project. She has participated in numerous M&A transactions related to mining assets, producing legal opinions, title due diligences, and environmental regulatory compliance reports.

Ms. Lede assists companies in the permitting process associated to mining, oil & gas, energy and infrastructure projects; and in all kind of proceedings related to pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food and med-tech products, medical trials approvals; being currently –and for the past seventeen years- the main advisor for Red Bull in regulatory matters. In addition, she has advised in complex judicial litigation cases related to regulated industries, and has been involved in several foreign investment projects and M&A transactions. Her expertise also includes aboriginal rights, urban planning and zoning regulations.

María Laura Lede Pizzurno is a partner within the Energy & Natural Resources practice at Mitrani, Caballero & Ruiz Moreno. Before joining the firm in 2017, Ms. Lede was a founder and administrative law partner of HOLT Abogados, heading the administrative law and economic regulation practice area (2008-2017) and a junior partner at Estudio Beccar Varela (1999-2008). She also served as an advisor for six years to the Secretariats of Public Works and Economic Programming of the Ministry of Economy and Public Works of the Argentine government.
