Javier García Marrero is a partner (since 2020) in Pérez-Llorca’s Litigation & Arbitration practice and a former specialist commercial judge. After serving as a judge since 1999—including as sitting judge of Madrid’s Commercial Court No. 5—he brings deep courtroom insight to complex insolvency and commercial disputes.
He advises on contentious restructurings, settlement arrangements, clawback actions and the sale of production units and significant assets within insolvency proceedings, and appears across Spain’s civil and commercial courts as well as in arbitration. Javier holds a Law degree with special distinction (Universidad de La Laguna) and previously served as a court clerk. He lectures widely on insolvency and corporate restructuring.
