Victor is Co-Head of Global Real Estate and Head of the Timber and Forest Products Group at Eversheds Sutherland. He represents a wide range of clients investing in timberlands in the US, Latin America and elsewhere around the world. He and his team are regularly involved in the largest transactions in this asset class, including acting as lead counsel representing the buyers in the largest private land transaction ever in the US, the acquisition of approximately five million acres of timberland by a consortium of buyers. Victor has extensive experience handling timberland financings, fiber supply agreements, conservation easements and mitigation banks. He has also assisted in the development of numerous forestry carbon sequestration projects and is now regularly advising clients on how to position their timberland assets to be a solution for investors seeking to offset their carbon footprints. Victor also has extensive experience in the hospitality sector and assists hotel and resort developers in all aspects of acquisition, development and finance, including purchase and sale agreements, management contracts, leases for landlords and tenants, acquisitions and franchising agreements, with a particular focus on Caribbean and Latin American hospitality projects.
