Partner and Co-Head of the firm’s Energy Projects team, Tom helps his clients manage risk and strategically negotiate complex energy transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, commodity transactions and project development and financing.

Tom is a recognized leader on all aspects of renewable energy project development, construction and operation, including wind (onshore and offshore), solar, storage, geothermal, biomass, hydrogen and hydro assets. He regularly handles engineering, procurement and construction agreements; PPAs, corporate VPPAs and other structured and financeable long-term power supply and hedging arrangements; energy management agreements; asset management transactions; and trading of physical and financial products under master agreements, including ISDA, EEI, NAESB and WSPP agreements. He also has experience advising on other ESG and sustainability-related projects such as electric vehicle (EV) charging and energy management software and solutions.

Tom also represents buyers and sellers in business combinations in the energy industry, including acquisitions and dispositions of all types of electric generation and transmission assets, mergers, stock and other equity purchases, joint ventures and structured alternatives.

A long-time champion of renewable energy and sustainability, Tom heads the firm’s Sustainability Committee, which oversees the firm’s commitment to achieve net zero emissions and other environmentally friendly business practices.
