Ruth A. Schoenmeyer

Ruth Schoenmeyer is an old-fashioned real estate nerd who is based in Eversheds Sutherland’s Chicago office and focuses her practice on commercial real estate, advising clients on a variety of transactions, including all types of leasing (office, retail, industrial, and ground leases, built to suit leases, and sale-leaseback transactions), subleases and other lease exit strategies, and acquisitions (especially acquisitions of parcels on which a new building will be constructed). She has extensive experience, both in-house and in private practice, representing landlords and tenants.

Ruth’s clients include tech companies, retailers, restaurants, manufacturers, and developers.

She frequently speaks and writes about commercial real estate leasing issues. Recent topics include lease exit strategies (Association of Corporate Counsel), negotiation of leases for non-standard uses in a development (American Bar Association), and redevelopment of shopping center properties (ICSC law conference).
