Rachel Reid is Global Co-Head of AI and Co-Lead of Global Cybersecurity and Data Privacy at Eversheds Sutherland. She brings over 20 years of experience advising financial services and technology companies on complex legal and regulatory matters.
Rachel’s practice focuses on artificial intelligence, data privacy and security, and technology-driven risk management. She advises clients on the deployment and governance of AI and generative AI, with particular emphasis on regulatory compliance, operational integration, and enterprise risk frameworks. Her experience also includes corporate governance, complex commercial and technology transactions, and outsourcing.
She works with high-growth and global public companies to navigate evolving regulatory environments, including transformative transactions and strategic initiatives. Rachel regularly advises senior leadership, including members of the C-suite and boards of directors, on emerging technology risk and governance.
In her leadership role, Rachel helps lead the firm’s global AI practice and is widely recognized for her work helping clients address the legal, regulatory, and ethical challenges associated with AI adoption. Her insights have been featured in leading publications, where she focuses on practical approaches to responsible AI and regulatory compliance.
Before rejoining Eversheds Sutherland, Rachel served as Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and Chief Privacy Officer at a leading health, wealth and investment company.
Rachel is a recognized thought leader and frequent speaker on AI and technology law. She regularly presents on AI governance, regulatory developments, and the responsible integration of AI in financial services and other regulated industries.
