Paola Valderrama Ortiz

Paola Valderrama Ortiz is a Partner in the Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions practice at Pérez-Llorca in Colombia, where she focuses on cross-border transactions and corporate reorganisations. Since 2013 she has advised local and international clients on joint ventures, acquisitions, and investment structuring across the healthcare, financial services, energy, and telecommunications sectors, with particular emphasis on private equity fund representations.

Paola began her career in 2013 as a junior associate at an international firm in Bogotá, working in Corporate and M&A. She moved to a local firm in 2016 before joining a global firm the following year, where she advanced from associate to senior associate over the next four years — a period that included a visiting Law Fellowship at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2020. She joined Pérez-Llorca in Bogotá as senior associate in October 2021 and was named partner in January 2026. She is recognised as a Leading Associate by The Legal 500 2025 in Corporate and M&A, and was named among TTR Data's leading Colombian M&A dealmakers in its Q1 and Q2 2026 reports.

Paola is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA).

Paola completed a law degree from Universidad del Rosario, Bogotá, and a specialisation in Environmental Law at the same university, later going on to complete an LL.M. and a Wharton Business & Law Certificate at the University of Pennsylvania. She speaks Spanish and English.
