Natalia García Arenas is a Partner in Pérez-Llorca’s Corporate and M&A practice and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. With more than two decades of experience, she focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and project financing, and advises companies, investment banks, private equity funds, multilateral organisations, and strategic investors. She combines technical depth in transactional law with a strategic business perspective, and has also received recognition for her leadership in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal profession.
Career
Natalia joined the firm in 2002, becoming a partner in 2017 and joining the Executive Committee in 2024. She also gained international experience as an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York. She is recognised by Chambers Latin America 2025 in Corporate/M&A, by The Legal 500 as a Leading Partner, and by Leaders League and IFLR1000 as a notable practitioner in M&A.
Personal
Natalia is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and has played a leading role in initiatives promoting women in law and finance. She is a founder and Steering Committee member of Women in the Profession (WIP), sits on the Advisory Board of Women on Boards Community, and serves on the boards of Women in Alternative Investments (WAI) and Women in Connection (WIC). She holds a law degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Bogotá; an LL.M. from Columbia University School of Law; and a Specialisation in Financial Law from Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá.
Work Highlights
Natalia has advised on high-profile Colombian and cross-border transactions in sectors including technology, healthcare, infrastructure, logistics, and energy. She advised KKR on its acquisition of TIGO’s telecommunications towers and Colombia Telecomunicaciones’ fibre optic assets, Grupo Rhenus on its purchase of Blu Logistics, and Pegasus on its acquisition of Hábitat Adulto Mayor. She has also advised on the sale of Clínica Chía S.A. to Avidanti S.A.S. (a subsidiary of Patria Investments Ltd), the acquisition of Celsia Move by VIP Green Mobility, and Merqueo’s investment round. Other significant work has included advising on the joint sale of interests in Clear Ocean and Bellomare to a global port operator, on ExxonMobil’s sale of subsidiaries to Copec/Terpel, and on strategic acquisitions in the technology sector by Globant.
