He has played a central role in headline transactions such as the Gilinski family’s tender offers for Nutresa and Sura, the acquisition of Empresas Públicas de Rionegro by EPM, and strategic asset deals including Termovalle and Zona Franca Celsia by EnfraGen, Centelsa by Nexans, and Banco ProCredit by Credifinanciera. His track record spans both private and public company acquisitions, tender offers, and privatisations under Colombian law.

Career
Juan David joined Pérez-Llorca in 2009 and became a partner in 2020. His career includes international experience as a foreign associate at Sidley Austin in New York, where he advised private equity and hedge fund clients on strategic alliances, restructurings, and public and private M&A transactions. He has been recognised as a Next Generation Partner by The Legal 500 2025 in Corporate and M&A, as Highly Regarded in IFLR1000 2024, and as a Leading practitioner in Leaders League 2025.
Personal
Juan David teaches the Mergers and Acquisitions course at Universidad de la Sabana, Colombia, and he is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA). He holds a law degree and a specialisation in International Business Law from Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá; an LL.M. in Corporate Law from New York University School of Law; and an Advanced Professional Certificate in Law & Business from NYU Stern School of Business. He speaks Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese.
