Career

David Araque is the director of the Litigation & Conflict Resolution Practice Group, specializing in international dispute resolution, international arbitration, international litigation and dispute resolution associated with investment projects. He has over 18 years of experience in litigation and national and international arbitration, specifically in disputes relating to construction/infrastructure (EPC, FIDIC Red Book contracts), design and procurement of industrial equipment, commercial distribution (brokerage) and in the energy sector. He has provided advice on prevention of disputes, contractual and tortious liability issues, and to multinational companies in the defense of several class and group actions filed against them for environmental matters, personal injuries and consumer protection rules. He has been a professor Roman Law, Business Law, Obligations (Civil Liability, Effects, Transmission and Termination of Obligations) and argumentation in civil proceedings at Universidad de los Andes.
