Ana Cristina Jaramillo Cuéllar is a Partner in Pérez-Llorca’s Corporate and M&A practice, with more than two decades of experience advising on complex corporate and transactional matters in Colombia and internationally. She specialises in mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial law, and financing, representing private equity funds, multinational corporations, family-owned businesses, and startups. Her dual legal training in Colombia and New York, coupled with her MBA, enables her to combine transactional expertise with a strategic business perspective.
Career
Ana Cristina began her career at Gómez-Pinzón before gaining international experience as an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in New York. She went on to hold senior roles at Garrigues and Norton Rose Fulbright, as well as in-house positions including Government Affairs Manager at Drummond Ltd. and General Counsel Latam at Merqueo. In 2021 she rejoined Gómez-Pinzón as a partner, bringing with her extensive cross-border expertise. She is recognised in Chambers Latin America 2025 for Corporate/M&A and as a Leading Practitioner by Leaders League 2025.
Personal
Ana Cristina is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and actively mentors entrepreneurs through Endeavor and other initiatives, advising on capital raising and shareholder structuring. She holds a law degree magna cum laude from Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá; an LL.M. from Harvard Law School; and an MBA from Imperial College Business School, London. She speaks Spanish and English.
Work Highlights
Ana Cristina has led significant transactions across a range of industries, including advising JCHX Mining Management on its 50% equity acquisition, Premise Data Corporation on its acquisition of Grupo Meiko, and Grupo Iberoamericano de Fomento on its majority stake acquisition in Greendipity. She has also advised on cross-border transactions for Alta Latin Holdings, Egis Consultoría, Macquarie Infrastructure Partners III, and Acon Consumer Finance Holdings. Her ability to manage complex and high-value deals across diverse sectors, furthermore, has been demonstrated in her work on the democratisation of Ecopetrol and the global sale of NEC Corporation’s wireless transport business.
