Mauricio has acted for clients across a wide range of industries, including finance, technology, agribusiness, entertainment, and energy. His notable mandates include advising CAF in litigation on the territorial application of Colombian labour law, supporting Nexans Colombia in restructuring and business unit analysis, and representing Cofco International and McCain in employment litigation and labour relations matters. He has counselled audiovisual companies including TIS Productions and Dynamo Productions on the labour aspects of film and television projects, and advised Sony Music, Indupalma, IGT, and Lulo Bank on labour strategies tailored to their sectoral needs.
Mauricio Montealegre León is a Partner in the Labour & Employment practice at Pérez-Llorca. Drawing on nearly two decades of experience, he advises national and international companies on the full spectrum of corporate labour law, from drafting employment contracts to resolving complex labour disputes. His practice encompasses collective bargaining and union relationship management, corporate integrations and mergers, compensation planning, executive negotiations, voluntary retirement programmes, workplace investigations, and labour audits, as well as due diligence in transactional contexts.
Mauricio began his career as an independent advisor and legal counsel at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Cali before working at leading national and international law firms. He joined Pérez-Llorca in 2018, and was named partner in 2025. He has been recognised as an Associate to Watch by Chambers Latin America 2025 and a Leading Associate by The Legal 500 2025, and has been Highly Recommended by Leaders League 2025 in Labour & Employment.
Mauricio sits on the Board of Directors of Colegio de Abogados Javerianos del Valle del Cauca. He is a member of the Legal Committee of ACRIP Colombia, the Colombian Labor Lawyers Association , and the International Bar Association (IBA). He holds a law degree and a specialisation in Labour Law from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Bogotá.
