Joshua Zive

Josh Zive advises clients across a wide range of sectors, including energy, industrials, manufacturing, food and agriculture, technology, and financial services, with a particular focus on trade law, trade policy, and cross-border regulatory risk. He helps companies understand and respond to tariffs, customs rules, trade remedy actions, sanctions, foreign investment reviews, and rapidly shifting U.S. trade policy developments. Josh combines legal, legislative, regulatory, and strategic communications experience to help clients navigate complex issues before Congress, federal agencies, courts, regulators, and public audiences. His work includes developing advocacy strategies, drafting rulemaking comments, preparing executive briefings, supporting lobbying campaigns, and helping companies explain technical trade issues in ways that resonate with policymakers and stakeholders.

He has distinctive experience advising clients on tariff exposure, import compliance, Section 232 and Section 301 actions, supply-chain risk, trade negotiations, and enforcement trends. Josh is especially focused on helping clients anticipate policy shifts before they become operational, financial, or reputational problems.

Josh also advises on international economic sanctions, CFIUS, anti-corruption compliance, and Dodd-Frank matters. He has helped multinational companies build compliance programs, delivered anti-corruption presentations in the U.S. and abroad, and guided clients through politically sensitive cross-border transactions and regulatory reviews.
