Barbara Jones

Jones is a retired federal judge who focuses her practice on corporate monitorships, compliance issues, internal investigations, and arbitrations and mediations. Jones began her career as a special attorney in the Honors Program of the U.S. Department of Justice, working in the New York City Organized Crime Unit of the Criminal Division. She later served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York, where she was the first woman ever appointed as Chief of a DOJ Organized Crime Strike Force. She went on to serve as Chief Assistant to the late New York County District Attorney Robert M. Morgenthau. During her 17 years on the bench, Jones presided over a range of cases related to accounting and securities, antitrust, corruption involving city contracts and federal loan programs, labor racketeering and terrorism. From 2010-2013, Jones served on the Multi-District Litigation Panel, which oversees the most complex cases in the federal court system.
