Career

Ms. Boeckmann is a nationally acclaimed trial lawyer and former senior federal prosecutor who advises companies and executives facing complex criminal, regulatory and civil investigations.

A seasoned white-collar defense advocate with deep experience, Nicole is known for her exceptional instincts, courtroom presence and ability to navigate matters at the intersection of legal, reputational and business risks. Her client roster – spanning Fortune 500 companies, sitting members of Congress and emerging technology firms – reflects both the trust she commands and the caliber of matters she handles.

Ms. Boeckmann successfully represented a California-based medical device manufacturer in parallel DOJ and SEC investigations into alleged securities fraud and off-label promotion. She obtained a declination from the SEC declination following a presentation to SEC staff and favorably resolved the criminal case with a Deferred Prosecution Agreement containing no fraud allegations and a minor financial penalty. Notably, no charges were brought against any executives, and the financial penalty was substantially reduced.

Ms. Boeckmann also successfully represented Chris Hu in a DOJ prosecution relating to alleged wire fraud, bribery, money laundering, tax evasion and FARA violations. She successfully litigated highly complex issues pursuant to the Classified Information Procedures Act. Following a month-long trial, the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict, and the individual was not convicted of any of the 19 counts brought by the government in its indictment.

In addition, Ms. Boeckmann successfully guided an industry-leading cryptocurrency company through parallel DOJ and SEC investigations, and she secured the dismissal of two FARA-related charges that were filed against a sitting Democratic Congressman through an appeal on the client’s behalf to senior DOJ officials in the Criminal and National Security Divisions at DOJ.
