Jodi McDougall

Jodi represents insurers in complex insurance coverage disputes and maritime matters. She enjoys working together with her clients to help them avoid and solve problems. Jodi has extensive experience defending bad faith claims. Her practice is nationwide. She handles all types of coverage disputes including environmental, professional liability, maritime, and general liability. She has successfully litigated hundreds of cases, including two of the largest coverage cases in Washington state history. She also represents vessel owners in maritime disputes in the Alaska fisheries.

Jodi has a mediation practice and serves as an arbitrator. She obtained extensive training through the Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. She enjoys working with parties to reach resolution and put disputes behind them.

Jodi served two terms on the board of directors for Cozen O'Connor and has been the managing partner of the Seattle office for the past 18 years. She serves on the firm’s Diversity Committee and is a mentor for the Women’s Initiative. Jodi enjoys pro bono work and is involved in a wide array of matters. She actively participates in the firm’s COVET project and has fought for veterans to obtain broader benefits. She has worked with women veterans to assist them in obtaining benefits for military sexual trauma that they have endured. She has represented Holocaust survivors seeking reparations and asylum candidates who have been persecuted based on their sexual orientation or democratic beliefs.
