Insurance and Reinsurance, Litigation.

He advises (re)insurers, manufacturers and distributors on corporate, regulatory and contentious matters across the full insurance lifecycle. His transactional work includes M&A, bancassurance alliances, VIF reinsurance, portfolio transfers and reorganisations. On the regulatory side, he counsels on product design, contract interpretation, distribution and pensions, as well as consumer-product safety and regulation. He is a recognised litigator in P&C, PI, D&O, E&O, cyber, W&I and medical malpractice disputes, including mass claims, coverage denials, recoveries and arbitrations, where he has acted as arbitrator and expert. He has appeared before all Spanish jurisdictions since 1993 and has advised on many of the market’s most significant deals of the last two decades.

Joaquín Ruiz Echauri leads Pérez-Llorca’s Insurance & Reinsurance and Product Safety & Liability practices, bringing more than 30 years’ experience to corporate, regulatory and disputes mandates in the insurance sector and across consumer-product liability.
