Britt currently serves as co-chair of the firm’s Securities & Shareholder Litigation Practice Group where he represents public companies, their directors and senior management in complex securities class actions, merger class actions, post-closing indemnification disputes, and other types of business disputes in federal and state courts. He has significant experience representing clients in a broad range of industries including financial services, hospitality and healthcare. He has protected the interests of clients in more than 50 class actions in various states with billions in potential exposure. He also conducts internal investigations for public and private companies, and represents companies under civil or administrative investigation from the Securities and Exchange Commission. In addition, Britt represents and advises clients in a variety of healthcare-related litigation matters.
Career
Joined Bass, Berry & Sims in 2003 and previously served as chair of the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, he practiced for 10 years with Jones Day in Dallas.
