Shellie Freedman is a partner in Kirkland’s Technology & IP Transactions practice. She focuses her practice on complex transactions involving technology and intellectual property, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, collaboration agreements, IP licenses, outsourcing arrangements, cybersecurity and data privacy, and other strategic commercial contracts. Shellie has experience counseling clients in a broad range of industries, including healthcare & life sciences, consumer products, technology, financial services, insurance and media. Her clients include Eli Lilly, KKR, OpenAI, Blackstone and Universal Music Group, among others. Shellie’s work has been recognized by The Legal 500 and Variety. Shellie is a trained scientist who holds a master’s degree in molecular and cell biology. She was a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
