Roald Nashi is a partner in the Washington, D.C. and Houston offices of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Roald regularly represents Brookfield, KKR, NextEra and other leading private equity and strategic clients and their portfolio companies on the financing of complex investments in energy and infrastructure, including rating-sensitive structured equity financings, bank and bond financings, tax structured financings, asset securitizations, leveraged leases, programmatic infrastructure joint venture financings, and margin loan facilities. Most recently, Roald led the structuring and financing of the $30 billion, first-of-its-kind joint venture between Brookfield Infrastructure and Intel to construct, develop and run a chip-making foundry in Arizona, Brookfield’s $9 billion acquisition of the world-class midstream asset portfolio Colonial Enterprises, and KKR’s acquisition of a majority stake in Avantus, a premier U.S. developer of large utility-scale solar and solar-plus-storage projects.
