His areas of practice include Tax and Energy. Pablo Ordóñez is currently the leading partner of the Tax area, one of the most prestigious departments in the firm.
As the leader of the Tax Law team, he regularly advises local and foreign companies on the design and implementation of tax structures to facilitate investment in Bolivia and to materialize divestments.
He also actively participates in the negotiation of complex corporate contracts for the sale of shares and assets, as well as commercial agreements, in relation to their tax effects and tax optimization alternatives. He also advises companies from all sectors on the applicable tax effects of their businesses.
In parallel, he has extensive experience in handling tax disputes before administrative and judicial bodies. Prior to joining PPO, Pablo was a partner at the FERRERE law firm and also worked as a tax advisor (2014-2016) and international tax advisor (2008-2014) for Repsol in Spain. During that period, his work focused on comprehensive tax advice, coordinating with external advisors from Nordic and African countries to define and implement defense strategies.
Prior to that, Pablo was a tax advisor for Telefónica (at its headquarters in Madrid, Spain), the National Customs of Bolivia, and the National Tax Service of Bolivia. He obtained his law degree from the Bolivian Catholic University and a Master’s degree in Taxation from the Garrigues Study Center in Madrid, Spain.
He also has a specialization in International Tax Planning from the Financial Studies Center of Madrid and a specialization in Comparative Fiscal Policy from Harvard University, Boston, United States.
In the academic field, he is a tax professor in various postgraduate programs and author of articles on tax issues for academic publications, as well as for the press in Bolivia and abroad.
Career
Pablo Ordóñez is a lawyer and tax adviser with over 20 years of professional experience in South America and Europe. Have worked in house for the tax administration and for leading private multinational companies.
He was also a tax professor at different post graduate programs and has written articles and investigations about tax reforms in Bolivia
He also dominates the market for his expertise in international taxation, indirect taxation, tax litigation, and tax policy combined with his strong skills in energy and natural resources.

Personal
Pablo Ordóñez is a former competitive BMX racing cyclist, having held national and Latin American championship titles as well as a European vice championship title. He is, to this day, devoted to the promotion of his beloved sport.
