Nick Losurdo is a partner in the Investment Funds Group in the Boston office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Nick advises investment fund sponsors, financial institutions, public companies and investors on regulatory, policy, transactional, enforcement and strategic matters. Nick’s focus is predominantly on broker-dealers, equity and option exchanges, ATSs and other trading platforms and intermediaries regarding rules and regulations of the SEC, FINRA, state regulators and SROs. Nick also regularly supports private equity and venture funds during strategic transactions involving financial institutions. He also advises technology and other companies in the areas of fintech and blockchain/crypto/digital currency.
Nick has served in high-level government, private practice and in-house roles. Prior to joining Kirkland, Nick was a partner at another international law firm. Before that, he served at the SEC as counsel to one of the commissioners, advising on a broad array of legal, policy and regulatory matters. Early in his career, Nick was in-house counsel at an SEC-regulated options exchange.
