Kate advises private and public sector clients (both commercial and individual) in all areas of planning law. Her range of expertise is vast, including disputes, judicial reviews, lawful development certificates, applications for planning consent, appeals, enforcement notices and challenges in the higher courts. She also offers advice on Listed Buildings and the impact of policy designations; drafts planning agreements to support applications for permission; community infrastructure levy; local and neighbourhood planning, strategic infrastructure; representations on developments, and guidance on procedure and the permitted development regime.
Career
Kate established herself as a planning specialist in the public sector, most notably as Team Leader for Mid Kent Legal Services providing advice for three local authorities in Kent, guiding a team of planning solicitors, a role which earned her rank as one of the top local authority lawyers in the country. Kate joined Thomson Snell & Passmore in 2018 and while her base has been focussed around the South of England, she has valued clients (both public and private sector) across the breadth of the country.
