Douglas Skilton

Douglas specialises in resolving a wide range of disputes for businesses and individuals. This includes dealing with High Court litigation, mediation, other forms of ADR and litigation avoidance strategies. Douglas regularly advises on claims for breach of contract arising from the supply of goods, the sale of industrial machinery, the provision of services, international distribution and agency agreements, and also the mis-selling of financial products. He acts for business partners, shareholders and directors of companies involved in disputes, and he has a significant amount of experience in dealing with civil fraud claims. Douglas also specialises in brand protection / intellectual property disputes, including copyright, design right, trade mark and passing off claims, the misuse of confidential information, domain name and company name disputes, which can often involve applying for or resisting injunctions.

Douglas read Law at the University of Kent, Canterbury and joined Thomson Snell & Passmore in 2004. He became a partner in 2015.
