Jay Ptashek is a Debt Finance partner in Kirkland’s New York office. Known as one of the most experienced finance lawyers in the nation, Jay represents private equity firms, their portfolio companies, and corporate borrowers on acquisition finance and corporate finance transactions. He focuses on syndicated and direct lender senior secured and bridge loan financings, primarily in the leveraged acquisition finance area. With a broad and diverse practice serving a wide spectrum of clients, Jay also advises on debt restructuring and liability management matters.
Jay has earned a reputation for bringing the full breadth of market knowledge in structuring, negotiating and implementing financing arrangements for Kirkland’s clients in matters across the U.S., Europe and Asia. His representative clients include financial sponsors such as Apax Partners, Advent, Cerberus and 3G Capital, as well as large financial institutions and a multitude of private equity portfolio companies and corporate borrowers.
