Represents clients in mass tort and other aggregate litigation, with an emphasis on appellate litigation. Defends companies as part of a team that focuses on global litigation strategy and law and motions practice in coordinated proceedings in federal and state courts. Extensive litigation experience in state and federal appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. Also has extensive experience handling expert motion issues, and developed strategies for defeating highly complex but speculative and unscientific theories and disrupting mass proceedings. Worked with defense experts to develop reports and prepare for depositions in order to implement those strategies, and took a lead role in drafting motions both for and in opposition to the exclusion of expert testimony. Negotiated and coordinated resolution of a number of mass tort proceedings. Frequently publishes on matters relevant to his practice, including on issues relating to multidistrict litigation and class action procedure.
