Brooksany represents clients in transactional matters and litigation that relate to the energy industry and energy transition, with a focus on assets regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, state public utility commissions including the Public Utility Commission of Texas, the Department of Energy, and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Brooksany also has represented clients before federal and state courts, including in bankruptcy courts, assisted with internal investigations and developed energy trading and corporate compliance programs. Brooksany has advised clients with investments in a variety of infrastructure interests, including renewable electric generation and energy storage, renewable natural gas and bio-based fuels, liquified natural gas (LNG), energy trading and services, environmental attributes trading and commoditization, electric transmission, traditional power, natural gas and oil pipeline companies, and public utilities. Brooksany’s experience includes counseling clients with respect to project development and financing, sales and acquisitions, commercial agreements and hedging related to electric generation and energy markets, regulatory compliance and enforcement matters, energy disputes, and bankruptcy and restructuring litigation.
