Brad A. Green is an investment funds partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP.

Brad counsels investment management clients in connection with structuring, registering and operating publicly-offered and privately-placed investment vehicles that provide access to retail and high-net-worth asset management platforms. His practice focuses on the representation of registered closed-end funds — notably, alternative products such as funds of private equity, private credit and hedge funds, and funds that provide “direct access” to such strategies and asset classes — as well as BDCs and traditional, exchange-listed funds.

Brad also serves as counsel to investment companies and their independent board members, as well as investment advisers and sponsors, and advises them on a broad range of transactional and ongoing regulatory and compliance matters arising under the federal securities laws. Brad regularly helps operating companies and other issuers navigate various considerations under the Investment Company Act of 1940 in connection with initial public offerings and corporate M&A and finance transactions.

In addition, Brad represents investment management clients in connection with SEC examinations, investigations and enforcement proceedings, and private litigation.

Brad is passionate about serving the needs of underserved New York City communities. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Union Settlement, a nonprofit organization founded in 1895 that provides education, wellness and community-building services and programs to East Harlem residents.
