Andrew Small is a partner in the Real Estate Group in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Andrew has extensive experience in advising real estate investors of all types including opportunity funds, core funds, permanent capital vehicles, hedge funds, public companies, sponsors and operating companies in connection with their acquisitions and dispositions of real estate and real estate debt (including portfolio acquisitions), capital raising (including individual asset joint ventures, programmatic joint ventures and “club deals”), real estate development and financing matters (including mortgage and mezzanine debt, as well as preferred equity).
Andrew earned his B.B.A. from the University of Michigan and J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. Andrew is also an Adjunct Professor at The University of Chicago where he teaches a course on real estate transactions.
