Alex Rodney is a nationally recognized litigation partner in Kirkland's New York office. He represents clients—including corporations and their boards—in high-stakes securities and shareholder actions and other complex commercial disputes in state and federal courts nationwide. His clients have included Acadia Healthcare, Airbnb, Alcon, Ares, Blue Owl, Colgate, EQT Corporation, Mylan, Target Corporation, and Vista Equity Partners. As lead counsel, Alex has obtained numerous precedent-setting victories for his clients in multi-billion-dollar securities class actions.

Alex’s practice spans the full spectrum of stockholder and securities litigation—from class actions and derivative suits to M&A-related disputes—with a particular focus on emerging issues involving AI, software, and credit (including BDCs). Clients regularly turn to Alex when navigating securities litigation alongside parallel proceedings, investigations, enforcement actions, and crisis situations—matters he handles in close collaboration with Kirkland’s transactional and enforcement attorneys.
