Bill Yu Qin joined JunHe in 2007. Before that, he worked at the China CITIC Group, Gray, Plant & Mooty (Minneapolis, USA), Freshfields, Electricite de France and Beijing Junyi Law Office.
He is very experienced in handling cross-border legal services, having had extensive international exposure in advising clients in contentious and non-contentious matters in China and the Asia Pacific region, Africa, Europe, North America and South America.
He is also active in advising the government and providing legal education. He was the legal advisor to the Beijing Municipal Transport Commission, and the legal advisor to the People’s Government of Dongcheng District, Beijing. He served as a tutor for the Master’s Degree of Law program at Tsinghua University School of Law.
His major publications include US Contract Law, Case Studies (co-author, China Legal Publishing House, 1999, in Chinese), International Franchise Disclosure Laws, China Chapter (co-author, American Bar Association Forum on Franchising, 2006-2015), and Civil Liability in Nuclear Incidents: the State Council’s Reply and Beyond (China Law & Practice, July/August, 2005).
He is ranked as a leading lawyer in Chamber’s Asia-Pacific (Energy and Resources/Project and Infrastructure), IFLR (Energy and Infrastructure) and Who’s Who Legal (Franchise). He was awarded one of the “Top 10 Beijing lawyers who studied abroad and returned to China” by the Beijing Lawyers’ Association (2012).
