Wei Quan

Ms. Quan Wei obtained LLM degree from New York University School of Law and bachelor’s degree from Peking University Law School. She is qualified to practice law in both People’s republic of China and State of New York, USA.

Ms. Quan joined Jingtian & Gongcheng in 2010.

Ms. Quan specializes in overseas and domestic listing, PE/VC investment, merger & acquisition, asset management, intellectual property and entertainment law, etc.

In the area of capital markets, Ms. Quan has broad and in-depth experiences in IPO, and has represented tens of companies in their overseas or domestic listing and M&A projects, including Tenfu, Chow Tai Fook, 360 Security, etc. Besides, Ms. Quan advised top investment institutions (including CITIC PE, CITIC Trust, China Orient Asset Management, China Jianyin Investment, Challenjer’s Venture Capital, CJ Group etc.) on dozens of investment deals. Ms. Quan also provide services, such as shareholding structure design, equity incentive plan, financing, compliance and general corporate, to companies in various industries, including manufacturing, science and technology, finance, internet, energy, agriculture, retail, logistics, etc.

In the area of media and entertainment law, Ms. Quan has been legal counsel of several music A&R, production, publishing and promotion companies, including Universal Music Publishing Group (one of top three global music publishing companies), Universal Production Music, IRIS (famous rap music label), etc. Ms. Quan provided legal services on music license, production, publishing and promotion of more than 200 movie/TV drama projects for Perfect Youth OST, and also provided full-process legal services for movies and dramas such as Sister (《我的姐姐》), Fire on the Plain (《平原上的火焰》), Tainted Love(《鹦鹉杀》), etc. While providing compliance, intellectual property, financing/investment and general corporate services to artist/artist agencies/artist studios, Ms. Quan also serves clients in cultural tourism, media, entertainment, and consumption industry, and clients in other industries conducing business with new media and digital networks. In addition, Ms. Quan has represented clients in the media and entertainment industries in various disputes, assisted clients in formulating and implementing crisis public relations solution plans, and participated in a number of capital market projects in the media and entertainment industries, including the listing of China Film Corporation. With her professional knowledge and experience, Ms. Quan is committed to working with clients in the industry to create a healthy intellectual property environment and provide legal support for the prosperity and development of content creation in the media and entertainment industry.
