Valeska Bloch

Valeska is the head of the Cyber practice at Allens. She is a leading technology, data and cybersecurity practitioner with particular expertise in highly-regulated critical infrastructure and data-intensive sectors, including financial services, energy, healthcare, technology, retail, resources and infrastructure. Her practice spans transactional work, advisory, governance and crisis management.

Valeska has been instrumental in the design and implementation of some of Australia's earliest and best practice data, artificial intelligence and cyber governance frameworks and she advises extensively on data protection issues, regulatory investigations and other enforcement action, and data platform and commercialisation transactions. She is highly sought after for her expertise in cyber risk management, readiness and incident response, having advised on many of Australia's largest and most high-profile cyber incidents, as well as on cyber preparation programs for numerous top 20 ASX-listed companies. Valeska is also a member of the Business Council of Australia's Cyber Alliance group.

An expert in tech-led innovation, Valeska also advises on digital transformations, the procurement of large-scale ICT platforms and business process outsourcings, critical supply chain arrangements, complex commercial transactions, and business separations and integrations. She was a founding member of the firm's Allens Accelerate high-growth companies practice and is a trusted advisor to various startups, corporate innovators and investors.
