Practice Areas
I have been involved in health law since 1993, covering all aspects of clinical negligence and areas of medicine. I have a particular interest in birth injury claims, and adult and child brain and spinal injuries. I have successfully resolved many claims with values well in excess of £5m.
I was significantly involved in the vCJD scheme (as negotiated by Irwin Mitchell on behalf of vCJD victims with the Department of Health), with specific responsibility for representing numerous family members of victims with their claims in respect of psychiatric injury and particular hardship under the most traumatic circumstances.
I have the additional responsibility as a professional support lawyer for personal injury nationally, dealing with systems, processes, and regulatory compliance. I am also the co-author of three chapters on damages in APIL’s guide to clinical negligence.
