Piero Viganò has built extensive experience advising leading utilities, IPPs, infrastructure funds, banks, facility managers, consortia, local public services companies and energy-intensive companies on energy and infrastructure M&A transactions as well as on project contracts and regulatory matters connected to public incentive schemes, regulated cashflows, concession regimes and capacity remuneration mechanisms.
Thanks to the deep knowledge of the regulatory aspects having an impact on the project cash flow, he acts also on the structuring and negotiation of bankable long-term trader and corporate - physical and virtual - PPAs, Tolling Agreements, Biomethane Purchase Agreements, supporting the construction of additional capacity.
Piero advises across the full spectrum of renewable technologies — hydroelectric, solar photovoltaic, wind, biogas and biomethane — as well as on CHP, storage, self-consumption, C&I and energy efficiency. His practice extends beyond pure energy projects into the broader infrastructure space. He regularly advises on data centre projects, district heating, EV charging infrastructure. He has significant experience in public-private partnership transactions, including in the public sector and in concessions pertaining to Street Lighting and public buildings efficiency.
Piero has authored numerous publications on the energy and infrastructure sectors and is a regular speaker at industry conferences.
