Min(Simon) Xu holds a LLM degree from UC Berkeley, a Master’s degree in Science from Imperial College London, and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology.
Mr. Xu’s expertise lies in patent prosecution, patent litigation, and various IP-related legal services including IP due diligence and FTO investigation.
In patent prosecution, Mr. Xu excels in drafting patents, responding to office actions, and managing procedural matters, with technical proficiency spanning Electric Vehicles, Smart Devices, Internet, Pharmaceuticals, and Bio-tech. Collaborating with his team, he has successfully prosecuted numerous patent applications for prominent domestic and international tech firms. Notably, his experience as a patent attorney in Europe uniquely positions him to aid Chinese clients in securing patents abroad.
In patent litigation, Mr. Xu has managed several high-profile cases, such as representing TCL in a patent dispute over air conditioning technology, resulting in the invalidation of the opponent's patent. He also acted on behalf of Interdigital in SEP-related antitrust disputes and patent infringement actions against Huawei and ZTE.
Additionally, Mr. Xu is adept in IP due diligence and FTO investigation for IPO and M&A projects, advising numerous hi-tech and bio-tech companies on IP matters in financing and IPO endeavors.
With a decade of experience in top Chinese and British patent firms and five years in a leading Chinese law firm, Mr. Xu is admitted to the PRC bar and the Chinese patent bar, holding the European Patent Attorney qualification (although not actively practicing).
Mr. Xu is recognized by Legal 500 and IAM 1000, and he is also endorsed as an IP expert by the IP Office of Jiangsu Province.
