Lars Rosenberg Overby

Lars Rosenberg Overby specialises in Dispute Resolution and Maritime and Transport Law.

With more than 30 years of experience, Lars is one of Denmark's most experienced lawyers within his specialities. Lars has been involved in drafting the standard contract Windtime, which is used in the offshore wind industry, and he has advised on the charter of ships for several years. He has experience as an arbitrator and has litigated cases before all Danish courts and in international arbitration proceedings.

Lars is also chairman of the Danish Maritime Law Association and active in the Polar Shipping Committee in Comité Maritime International. Lars has a background in P&I/defence insurance and has, in addition to his work as a lawyer, been an acting judge at the Eastern High Court. He is a member of the Danish Supreme Court Bar Association and the Danish Arbitration Association. He has also been admitted to the doctoral programme at the Institute of Law at the University of Oslo.

In addition, Lars has written several books and articles on maritime law topics and has been an external lecturer in maritime law at the University of Copenhagen.

Lars is a member of Comite Maritime International (chairman of the Polar Shipping passenger rights subcommittee), the Danish Supreme Court Bar Association, the Danish Bar and Law Society, the Maritime and Transport Law Committee of the International Bar Association. Further, he belongs to the Danish arbitration law assoaciation. He has also been admitted to the doctoral programme at the Institute of Law at the University of Oslo.
