Kim joined Thorntons in 2013 after completing her traineeship with an international commercial law firm. Now a Partner in our Corporate team she works on a wide range of corporate and commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions; share sales/purchases; corporate restructurings; joint venture agreements; shareholders’ agreements and Partnership agreements.
Kim is also a key member of our Healthcare team, where she is widely recognised throughout Scotland as an expert within the sector. She is consistently ranked by both Chambers & Partners UK and The Legal 500 as an expert within the field of Healthcare and regularly presents at various industry specific events within the Healthcare calendar.
Kim enjoys advising all Healthcare professionals, however her main focus is on dental practitioners, pharmacists, vets and children’s nurseries, where she advises on business sales and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, business structure and succession planning within their particular sectors. In the dental sector in particular, Kim can offer practical advice on issues such as corporate structure and listing requirements, NHS legislation and regulations, associate agreements, restrictive covenants and NHS grant funding.
Kim also advises a variety of banks and lenders on putting in place appropriate and robust security packages when lending to Healthcare professionals.
