Michelle is a key member of our Edinburgh office with over 20 years’ experience as a litigation solicitor. Her key area of work is personal injury claims and she deals in all types of accident claims including road traffic accidents and clinical negligence claims. She has a particular interest in complex and high value Employers Liability Claims.
A qualified Solicitor Advocate (Civil), Michelle regularly appears in the Court of Session and Sheriff Court and has been instructed as Counsel in property and commercial litigation disputes as well as receiving instructions in Personal Injury Claims. She regularly prepares written pleadings, appears in court and advises on all aspects of a case as it progresses. Michelle also accepts instructions from other firms as a Solicitor Advocate in Personal Injury matters or as a Commissioner in proceedings to recover documents or take witness evidence.
Michelle is a member of the Society of Solicitor Advocates and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). She is also certified by the Law Society of Scotland as a trauma-informed practitioner. A trauma-informed approach is a way of working that acknowledges the impact of trauma on individuals and aims to create safe, supportive environments that minimise the risk of re-traumatisation.
