José Manuel Mateo

José Manuel specializes in providing strategic advice on labor law and HR-related matters to senior executives and corporate HR management. He

is an expert in managing and advising on the labor-law related aspects of domestic and international corporate transactions (mergers, APAs,

SPAs) and on all of the processes deriving from such transactions: reorganizations and restructuring, business successions, harmonizing collective

labor agreements, senior management contracts, etc. He regularly contributes to the implementation of these types of processes at private equity

entities, investment funds, etc. as well as collaborating with the other international firms involved. He also specializes in advising leading sports

entities and their associations and is member of the Garrigues' Sports & Entertainment industry. With a view to maintaining a global overview of the

business world, José Manuel is a member of various in-house groups and industries at Garrigues: Banks and Financial Institutions, Sports &

Entertainment and Corporate Social Responsibility He lectures on the Executive Master’s Programs at Centro de Estudios Garrigues and advises

and collaborates with the foremost international institutions and business guides (World Bank, World Justice Project Rule of Law, etc.).
