Jeffrey Nelson has nearly 40 years of experience representing owners, developers, and contractors in private development and public construction projects in and outside the USA. Jeff’s transactional practice focuses on contract drafting, negotiation, and project management, implementing various project delivery systems (bid-build, design-build, public-private partnerships, and privately financed projects). His dispute resolution practice includes mediation, construction litigation, and arbitration of contract disputes including claims for delay, defects, extra cost, inefficiency, and wrongful termination.
Career
Before joining the firm, Jeff’s professional activities included time as a shareholder in a private, Florida construction law firm, general counsel in a Florida headquartered general contractor, and as a member of executive management teams in European construction and development companies where he gained valuable experience providing strategic guidance, legal and risk management, capital markets/investor support, and managed the commencement of operations in several new markets/countries.
