Career

Francisco is partner and co-head of the Firm’s Energy and Project Finance groups. His practice focuses on energy matters, with particular emphasis on power (renewable and conventional) as well as natural gas activities.

He advises clients in the development, construction, financing (through project finance, project bonds and other sustainable structures), operation and maintenance of small, medium and large-scale energy projects.

He is particularly known for his participation in sophisticated transactions with broad experience negotiating financing agreements and project contracts.

He represents the full spectrum of industry participants, including sponsors, developers, project companies, lenders (commercial banks, public banks, multinational agencies, export credit agencies, private equity funds and other capital providers), insurers, contractors and others.

Francisco obtained his law degree in 1994 from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. He obtained a degree in corporate law from the ITAM. He worked as a foreign associate at New York and Mexico City offices of Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle (1991-1994) and was a partner at his own firm (1994-1999).

He is consistently listed in leading directories, such Chambers and Partners, where clients praise his neogtiations skills,technical expertise and business focus.
