Guillermo is a deal closer.

He is a capital markets and finance lawyer through and through. He started working for clients in the financial industry even before opening his own savings account.

Guillermo has the privilege of advising some of the largest and finest companies in Mexico and participating in the most relevant and innovative transactions. On the bank side, he represents all the first-tier banks doing business in the country. He is also recognized as a Mexican leader in Sustainable Finance and is a part of the ESG team at the Firm.

Guillermo is passionate about cultural expression and diversity issues. As part of his Pro Bono efforts, he works with Alondra de la Parra in projects for the promotion of Mexican music.

He is innately a teacher, both within the office and in academic circles. He always mentors young lawyers through the mentoring programs at Galicia and Abogadas MX. He lectures at Escuela Libre de Derecho and Universidad Panamericana and regularly publishes banking and finance articles.

Guillermo obtained his Law Degree from Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City, and a few years later, his LL.M. from Duke University School of Law.

He spent a year as a foreign associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York City, where he developed several other skills.

Guillermo is recognized as an expert and leader in the financial and capital markets legal sectors in Mexico by renowned international publications, such as Chambers Latin American Guide, Chambers Global Guide and The Legal 500 Latin American Guide. Leaders League ranks him as an expert in the Banking and Finance practice. IFLR1000 and Latin Lawyer list him as a leader in the Mexican legal market.

Guillermo is a member of the Executive Committee of the Firm.
