Sofía joined Galicia in 2015 and is currently an associate in the Banking & Finance and Capital Markets practices.
She specializes in advising on banking transactions, securities, compliance and financial regulation transactions. Sofía has been part of the advisory team for Mexican and foreign companies, as well as financial institutions, in the domestic and international placements of public and private debt offerings, equity and structured products, including FIBRAs, CKDs and CERPIs.
In addition, she has extensive experience in corporate matters, due diligence, compliance reviews, and advising debtors and financial institutions in local and cross-border financings.
Prior to joining the Firm, Sofía worked at Notary Public 29 in Mexico City and as a foreign associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in New York.
She obtained her LL.B. from Universidad Anáhuac (2018), a master’s degree in Financial Law Institutions from Universidad Panamericana and a master’s degree in Corporate and Securities Law from The London School of Economics and Political Science, in addition to other financial law diplomas and certifications.
