Career

Maurice is partner at Galicia and co-heads of the Capital Markets and Corporate Finance practice groups. He works closely with the Firm’s Energy, ESG, M&A, and Tax practice areas in securities and financing transactional work.

He advises clients on lending and capital markets transactions and securities regulation and has represented companies and investment banks in domestic and cross-border equity and debt offerings, tender offers, and securitizations, as well as borrowers and lenders in domestic and cross-border financings. He is also recognized as leader in Mexico in sustainable-linked financings and integrates the ESG team.

He is secretary of the board of directors of several Mexican companies, where he applies his knowledge and expertise in corporate governance and securities regulatory compliance.

Maurice has experience in multiple industry sectors, including hospitality, entertainment, financial services, retail and real estate.

He holds a Law degree from Escuela Libre de Derecho and a Master of Laws degree from Northwestern University School of Law. He also obtained a Certificate in Business Administration from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He worked as foreign associate at Clifford Chance’s office in New York.

Maurice is recognized as expert by Chambers Latin America in the Capital Markets practice. Likewise, he has been listed as an expert lawyer by The Legal 500 2023 Latin America in such practice. He is also recognized by IFLR1000 as one of the leading practitioners in Mexico in the Capital Markets and Banking & Finance Mexican legal ecosystem.
