Juan Carlos Burgos joined Galicia Abogados in 2011 as an associate in the regulatory practice group. His work is focused in antitrust matters and regulated industries. Juan Carlos is commonly involved in challenging pre-merger filing proceedings, particularly involving regulated sectors and industries, as well as cartel and dominance investigations. Juan Carlos also offers specialized compliance and integrity advice to our clients.
Before joining us, Juan Carlos was a special legal advisor to the former Mexican competition authority and also worked at other prestigious law firms in Mexico.
He is recognized by Chambers and Partners as an Associate to Watch in competition/antitrust matters and other international publications as a legal expert in competition.
He graduated with honors from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) (2009) and has an LL.M. degree from Columbia Law School under a Fulbright – García Robles Scholarship (2011).
He worked as an International Associate in the competition group of Uría Menéndez Abogados, in their Madrid and Brussels offices (2013-2014).
