Andrew has nearly 20 years of experience advising on permitting, environmental review, and compliance for mining, oil and gas, and infrastructure projects. His work includes supporting project development through regulatory processes and advising on transactions involving natural resources assets. He also has experience handling litigation related to environmental and permitting issues.
His practice includes representing clients in matters involving federal and state regulatory frameworks governing public lands, wildlife, and extractive industries. Andrew has also advised on multimillion‑dollar transactions and complex permitting strategies, including projects requiring coordination across multiple regulatory agencies.
Prior to joining private practice, Andrew served as legal and corporate engagement director for the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, where he advised governments and industry participants on legal frameworks, transparency standards, and regulatory reform in the extractive sector. He was awarded a Fulbright U.S. Scholar grant to Ecuador to develop regulatory solutions for artisanal and small‑scale mining.
Andrew began his career as a geologist and paleontologist and draws on his technical background in advising clients on mining and energy matters. He is admitted to practice in Idaho, Colorado, and Wyoming, as well as multiple federal courts.
