Career
Yin Ge is a Shanghai-based partner in Han Kun’s Asset Management & Finance Group. . She is currently serving as a member of the management committee of Han Kun’s Shanghai Office and the management committee of the firm’s Financial Practice Group.
Prior to joining Han Kun, Yin led the investment management practice at Clifford Chance’s Shanghai office. Prior to joining Clifford Chance, Yin also practiced with Allen & Overy LLP. Yin is a globally renowned legal expert on asset management and financial services. She has extensive experience in advising international asset managers, trading firms, financial institutions, central banks, sovereign wealth funds and financial infrastructures and platforms on various cross-border investment initiatives (e.g., QFI, QDLP/QDIE, QDII, setting up WFOE PFM and FMC and wealth management subsidiaries, Stock Connect, Bond Connect, Wealth Management Connect, CIBM Direct, Mutual Recognition of Funds), financial innovations, and other general PRC regulatory issues. Yin is also deeply and actively involved in the rulemaking of China's asset management and financial services industries, having advised many domestic and foreign financial authorities, industry associations and exchanges on rule and policy formulation.
In addition to her legal practice, Yin is also a leader of female empowerment in the PRC and an active participant and supporter of professional organizations. She has founded HerGrowth, the biggest and most influential women empowerment organization in China’s finance communities. Since 2022, she has also been serving as a committee member of Women in Arbitration of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre. On top of her contributions to the empowerment of female professionals in the PRC, she is also a frequent lecturer and a popular speaker at the World Economic Forum, OMFIF Global Finance Forum, Greenwich Economic Forum, and the Luxemburg RMB Forum, among other globally recognized economy- and finance-focused forums.
Over the years, Yin has also held a number of influential academic and public service appointments. Since 2019, she has been serving as a visiting professor at the New York Institute of Finance. From 2021 onwards, she has also been working in the capacity of an Investment Promotion Ambassador of Jing’an District, Shanghai, and has been serving as a part-time master’s supervisor at the Wuhan University School of Law. With regard to her public service, Yin is a current board member of the Shanghai Asset Management Association. Since July 2023, she has also been serving as a legal counsel to the Jing’an District Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Jing’an District People’s Government of Shanghai.
